Hello! My name is Noah, I’m a cartoonist/illustrator/artist/designer looking for entry-level work. My goal in life is to create and innovate with art, and I hope to do so with you at [company]. I have experience with working on projects and in collaboration with other creatives. I specialize in sequential art and illustration, though I am open to other areas such as design. I am always looking to learn from others as well as improve and expand my own skill set.

Experience

All You Can Eat Volume 1 (2024)

I contributed a 6 page story to an anthology with the Mouthbreather’s Guild, titled Old Ghosts. Its a story about a gunslinger who returns from the grave to exact revenge against the man who “killed” him.

  • Writer & Illustrator - I wrote a script as an outline for the story, which upon completion I thumbnailed the pages to ensure they read well. I illustrated the final artwork then added the lettering via Photoshop. After ensuring the story was formatted correctly I sent it to the organizer for printing.

The Legend of Kyyden (2021 – Present) 
An ongoing multi-part comic book developed in collaboration with a writer. The book is about a young prince who fights to reclaim his kingdom from an invading force.

  • Character Designer - I design characters in collaboration with the writer, the process begins when I receive prompts about characters and how they look. I develop multiple sketches and send them to the writer for feedback. After feedback is received and revisions are made, I take the design and create a character sheet for later reference.

  • Illustrator - Once I receive a script from the writer, rough thumbnail drawings are drafted to plan out page flow and ensure clarity of storytelling. After thumbnails are approved and revised, I illustrate the story in pencil drawings and digitize it. Digitized pencil artwork is “inked” with digital linework in Clip Studio Paint. After the linework is finalized, I color the artwork digitally. Text for dialogue and narration is added on layer on top of the artwork. All final artwork pages are compiled into a PDF and sent to the writer, who sends it off to the printer.

Hospital Breakout (2020)
A comic story set in a dystopian future. Developed as part of my final university project.

  • Writer & Illustrator - I wrote a basic script to help outline the plot & pacing of the story, after the script was completed I developed basic thumbnails to visualize it. Once the thumbnails were completed, I illustrated the artwork and scanned it as a digital file. The final pages were colored and lettered using a combination of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Procreate on iOS.

Teaching Assistant - Drawing & Technical Assistant - Printmaking Appalachian State University - 2020

Assisted with setup of drawing and printmaking classrooms, including preparing materials and performing demonstrations of artistic techniques. Assisted professors with critiques of student projects about their artistic technique during class time when asked as well as for the final critique
